The opera "Carmen" is derived from the novel of the same name by Prosper Mérimée (1803-1870), composed by the famous French composer Georges Bizet (1838-1875), playwrights H. Meilhac and Haller L. Halévy wrote the script and lyrics. The production rearranged some of the show's best 
 passages, reducing the 2.5-hour length to 90 minutes. An actor will play the original author, Mei Limei, who will use concise narration to connect all the scenes and interpret this powerful story in a concise and compact creative mode. The narration will be written by Professor Lu Jingwen, the director of the play. The whole play consists of ten well-known and heart-wrenching excerpts, performed in a simple, refined and engaging full-stage version
