Mezzo-soprano Ilona Bagele has gained attention not only as a soloist of the LNO, but also as a bright interpreter of jazz and popular music. Astor Piazzolla's fascinating music and Ilona Bagele's voice, the excitement and virtuosity of the accompanying musicians, as well as the feeling captured in the photo projections conjure up the real Argentine tango, which is not danced, but experienced.

"Tango is the fruit of the city's night with a bohemian scent - sleepless night wanderings on the outskirts, port, bars, cafes, music and love. Everything people do when they can't sleep," Horacio Ferrers, known in his homeland as the Shakespeare of Argentina, but known in Latvia as the author of Astor Piazzolla's lyrics, said in an interview to Rīgas Laiks magazine. "I would say that tango is like an air kiss that directly form never reaches the addressee."

Ilze Ozoliņa (piano), Svetlana Okuņa ( violin), Inga Ozola (cello), Ivars Kalniņš (percussion), Inita Āboliņa (accordion), Oskars Petrauskis (saxophone), Mareks Auziņš or Miša Hairuļins (double bass) take part in the show.

"Cantando y Amando" is the laureate of the Great Music Award 2012 in the "Performance of the Year" category.

Mecosoprāns Ilona Bagele ievērību guvusi ne vien kā LNO soliste, bet arī kā spilgta džeza un populārās mūzikas interprete. Astora Pjacollas fascinējošā mūzika un Ilonas Bageles balss, pavadošo mūziķu azarts un virtuozitāte, kā arī foto projekcijās tvertā sajūta uzbur īsto Argentīnas tango, ko nedejo, bet izdzīvo.

„Tango ir pilsētas nakts auglis ar bohēmas smaržu - bezmiega nakšu klejojumi pa nomalēm, ostu, bāri, kafejnīcas, mūzika un mīlestība. Viss, ko cilvēki dara, kad viņiem nenāk miegs," intervijā žurnālam Rīgas Laiks teicis Orasio Ferrers, ko dzimtenē dēvē par Argentīnas Šekspīru, bet Latvijā pazīst kā Astora Pjacollas dziesmu vārdu autoru. „Es teiktu, ka tango ir kā gaisa skūpsts, kas tiešā veidā nekad nesasniedz adresātu."

Izrādē piedalās Ilze Ozoliņa (klavieres), Svetlana Okuņa (vijole), Inga Ozola (čells), Ivars Kalniņš (sitamie instrumenti), Inita Āboliņa (akordeons), Oskars Petrauskis (saksofons), Mareks Auziņš vai Miša Hairuļins (kontrabass).
