A journey into classical-romantic soundscapes awaits you at Camerata Salzburg's guest performance in mid-May: »Robert Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor op. 54 is probably the most sensitive, delicate and special of all piano concertos«, says French pianist Hélène Grimaud, who will be performing as a soloist alongside the Salzburg orchestra. Also on the programme are Ludwig van Beethoven's overture to Heinrich Joseph von Collin's tragedy »Coriolan« and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's First Symphony. The composer wrote the latter in 1824, at the age of 15, immediately after his twelve string symphonies. It is in the tradition of Viennese Classicism and emphasises the tonal and dramatic effect of the individual instruments, which was probably inspired not least by Beethoven's Fifth.

Mitte Mai erwartet Sie beim Gastspiel der Camerata Salzburg eine Reise in klassisch-romantische Klanglandschaften: »Das Klavierkonzert a-moll op. 54 von Robert Schumann ist vermutlich das empfindlichste, heikelste, speziellste aller Klavierkonzerte«, sagt die französische Pianistin Hélène Grimaud, die an der Seite des Salzburger Klangkörpers als Solistin zu erleben ist. Ebenfalls auf dem Programm stehen Ludwig van Beethovens Ouvertüre zu Heinrich Joseph von Collins Trauerspiel »Coriolan« sowie Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdys erste Symphonie. Letztere schrieb der Komponist 1824, im Alter von 15 Jahren, unmittelbar nach seinen zwölf Streichersymphonien. Sie steht in der Tradition der Wiener Klassik und hebt die klanglich-dramatische Wirkung der einzelnen Instrumente hervor, wofür nicht zuletzt Beethovens Fünfte Pate gestanden haben dürfte.
