Verkkaan säveltävä George Benjamin on omistanut vuonna 2021 valmistuneen Konserttonsa orkesterille toisen pitkään teoksiaan hioneen orkesterivirtuoosin eli sävelläjäkapellimestari Oliver Knussenin muistolle. Benjaminin energisessä ja yksityiskohdiltaan rikkaassa orkesterikonsertossa on muotokuvankin piirteitä. Mutta ennen muuta se kertoo, miten fantastinen värien, liikkeiden ja mielikuvien aarreaitta kamariorkesteri von. Myös Kalevi Aholle orkesterisoittimet ovat loppumaton inspiraation lähde ja 2000-luvulla hän on säveltänyt konserttoja miltei kaikille kuviteltaville instrumenteille. Alttoviulun äänenjohtaja Jussi Tuhkanen pääsee Ahon alttoviulukonsertossa (2008) näyttämään dramaattiset kyntensä ja kertojan lahjansa. Schumannin sinfonioiden sarja jatkuu neljännellä sinfonialla, joka valmistui kiihkeänä sävellysvuonna 1841.

George Benjamin, who composes Verkka, has dedicated his Concerto for orchestra, completed in 2021, to the memory of another orchestral virtuoso who has honed his works for a long time, the composer-conductor Oliver Knussen. Benjamin's energetic and richly detailed orchestral concerto also has features of a portrait. But above all, it tells how the chamber orchestra, a fantastic treasure trove of colors, movements and images, works. Orchestral instruments are also an endless source of inspiration for Kalevi Aho, and in the 21st century he has composed concertos for almost every imaginable instrument. Viola's voice director Jussi Tuhkanen gets to show off his dramatic talents and storyteller's talent in Aho's Viola Concerto (2008). The series of Schumann's symphonies continues with the fourth symphony, which was completed in the hectic compositional year of 1841.
