Shortly before the MS America sets sail, Billy Crocker, secretary to stockbroker Elisha Whitney, quickly takes final instructions. He meets former nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, who is scheduled to appear on the Schi_ in a revival show. Billy learns that the love of his life, Hope Harcourt, is also on board to marry Lord Evelin Oakley of England in order to improve their family's financial situation. Of course Billy has to prevent that. Together with the disguised convict Moonface Martin and Reno, Billy tries to win over Hope. But it's not that easy, because the ticket he stole belongs to a wanted criminal! Now he not only has to hide from his boss, but also from the FBI. The plan to prevent his beloved's marriage threatens to fail, 

The acclaimed Broadway classic Anything Goes premiered on November 21, 1934 at the Alvin Theater in New York and a year later went to the Palace Theater in London's West End. The musical about the colorful company on board the transatlantic liner produced numerous evergreens, such as I get a Kick Out of You , You're the Top and of course the song Anything Goes . The latter was only released in 2014 by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga as a duet on their collaborative album Cheeck To Cheeck .

Kurz bevor die M.S. America in See sticht, nimmt Billy Crocker, Sekretär des Börsenmaklers Elisha Whitney, noch schnell letzte Anweisungen entgegen. Er trifft dabei auf die ehemalige Nachtclubsängerin Reno Sweeney, die auf dem Schi_ in einer Erweckungs-Show auftreten soll. Billy erfährt, dass seine große Liebe Hope Harcourt auch an Bord ist, um zwecks Aufbesserung der finanziellen Lage ihrer Familie den englischen Lord Evelin Oakley zu heiraten. Das muss Billy natürlich verhindern. Gemeinsam mit dem verkleideten Sträfling Moonface Martin und Reno versucht Billy, Hope für sich zu gewinnen. Doch so einfach ist das nicht, denn sein erschlichenes Ticket gehört einem gesuchten Kriminellen! Nun muss er sich nicht nur vor seinem Boss, sondern auch vor dem FBI verstecken. Der Plan, die Hochzeit seiner Geliebten zu verhindern, droht zu scheitern, als er gefasst und eingesperrt wird ... Doch alles ist möglich – mit nur ein wenig Raffinesse und Geschick. 

Die Uraufführung des gefeierten Broadway-Klassikers Anything Goes fand am 21. November 1934 im Alvin Theatre in New York statt und ging ein Jahr darauf ans Palace Theatre des Londoner West Ends. Das Musical über die bunte Gesellschaft an Board des Transatlantikliners brachte zahlreiche Evergreens, wie I get a Kick Out of You, You’re the Top und natürlich das titelgebende Lied Anything Goes hervor. Letzteres wurde erst 2014 von Tony Bennett und Lady Gaga als Duett auf ihrem gemeinsamen Album Cheeck To Cheeck veröffentlicht.
