The brilliant creation of Mikhail Glinka brought the composer fame as the founder of Russian opera and ushered in the “Russian period” in world musical art.

On the stage of the Chelyabinsk theater there is a large-scale production with unexpected directorial moves, impressive scenery and costumes. The outfits of the boyars, clergy, the tsar and his retinue were made according to ancient patterns, taking into account the cut of clothes of the 17th century. The costumes were hand-decorated with embroidery, embossing, lace, icons, stones, pearls and beads.

More than a hundred artists are involved in the performance: opera soloists, choir, ballet, mimance. And the final scene is so grandiose that two conductors work with the orchestra at once.
