Biography
The chilean soprano Macarena Valenzuela was born in Santiago de Chile, she began her musical studies at the Izidor Handler Municipal Conservatory in Viña del Mar with the Chilean soprano Nora López Von Vriessen and at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile under the direction of the German soprano Ahlke Scheffelt. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid and a Master of Arts in Opera Performance from the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona. She debuted professionally with great success in the role of Countess Almaviva in November 2008 at the Teatro Avenida de Buenos Aires and received the Beethoven Foundation Buenos Aires Scholarship for young artists in 2009 and 2010.
