Jordi Bernàcer is from 2015 Resident Conductor at the San Francisco Opera. He studied Flute, Choir and Orchestral Conducting at the “Joaquín Rodrigo” Conservatory in Valencia. He attended International Courses for Conducting with Maestro Erwin Acél at the University of Music in Vienna concluding his studies at the Vienna Conservatory with Prof. Georg Mark and Reinhard Schwarz with the much coveted honors degree. In 1997 he gets the Verein Wiener Musikseminar Conducting Prize. In 2004 he was selected to conduct in the “Beethoven Workshop” with Daniel Barenboim in the Vienna Musikverein. He was assistent of Lorin Maazel who invited him in 2009 as Associate Conductor at “Castleton Festival” in Virginia (USA).
